Tiga Fulfillment Update
All extra units and leftover parts were successfully fulfilled in June! The Phantom variant went out super fast, huge thanks to everyone who grabbed one. We hope you’re all thoroughly enjoying your Tiga builds!
OvertureV2 65 Update
Production is officially underway after finalizing regional vendor payments in June!
- All weights have finished CNC machining, and cases are currently in the CNC queue.
- Side panels are progressing well, the PC panels are completed, and wooden side panels are on track.
- PCB production is in progress, and keycap orders are being placed in August to stay aligned with our target delivery.

Timeline Note: We’re still aiming for end of September, but given the recent CNC delays on our last Cloudnine 2 project, there is a small chance the timeline might shift slightly. We'll monitor production closely and keep you posted if anything changes.
Cloudnine 2 GB Update
What a rollercoaster this run has been! While R1 gave us some great learnings, pulling off this build has brought a unique set of challenges. Here is the full breakdown of where everything stands across June and July:
Shipping & Fulfillment: Non-PVD units are shipping out this week!
Manufacturing Bottlenecks & Contract Updates: We experienced an unexpected bottleneck due to a surge in outside orders at our manufacturer. Moving forward, we are implementing stricter timeline clauses in our manufacturing contracts to prevent this on future runs.
The PVD Engineering Challenges: We are attempting what we believe is a world-first: a full-body PVD coating over raw stainless steel with visible machining marks. This comes with extreme engineering constraints:

Zero Post-Polishing: Standard procedure uses post-coating polishing to fix imperfections. Because we insist on preserving the raw machining marks, post-polishing isn't allowed so it has to come out of the chamber flawless on the first try.
- 360-Degree Visual Coverage: Unlike keyboards where only a weight is coated, every single surface (top, front, back, sides) must be pristine simultaneously.

Overcoming the PVD QC Hurdle: Yields were exceptionally low on the PVD Black Raw SS tops, and our original processor ultimately declined to continue. We spent a month working on a solution and brought in a new PVD processor, but the test batch we received from them was worse than the first run. I personally paid another visit back to our original PVD manufacturer and practically begged them to help us make it happen! After explaining the vision and the technical limits we're pushing, they agreed to take it on.
Final Delivery & Personal QC: The manufacturer called to confirm they will deliver all remaining PVD units on August 12th. I will be doing the QC in person to ensure every unit meets our strict standards.

Supplier Scheduling: The CNC manufacturer experienced a sudden overload in capacity, pushing our production schedule back by over a month.
- Pushing Process Limits: The standards required for our PVD top cases are exceptionally high. Multiple manufacturers have confirmed this pushes the absolute boundary of current PVD technology, which directly impacts yield rates.

- Stricter Vendor Oversight: We are enforcing tighter management with our CNC partner and updating our contract terms to establish strict delay penalties and quality guarantees.
- Limited Run for PVD SKUs: To prevent production bottlenecks caused by PVD yield limits, the raw SS PVD top cases will be capped as a limited production run.

Triple the QC Buffer: We are increasing our PVD spare parts/replacement order quantity to 3x the standard buffer so we can handle QC filtering smoothly without holding up shipping.

Essential: Temporarily on the backlog. Due to the heavy push to resolve Cloudnine’s PVD hurdles, we had to delay Essential's run to keep our full focus on fulfilling current commitments.

The Interest Check for Lune is live, and the feedback has been incredible! Here are a few interesting takeaways from the results so far:
- Titanium Hype: A surprising number of people are hyped for the full Titanium "Omakase" option!
- Material Preferences: Only about 12% showed interest in the aluminum bottom.
- Refining Our Raw SS PVD Approach: We deeply appreciate all the love for our signature raw SS PVD finishes. However, based on what we’ve learned through the manufacturing challenges on Cloudnine, we are re-evaluating how we approach this for Lune.
